The Diem Association

Stuart serves as CEO providing overall strategic and executive leadership for the project. He brings vast experience from the banking, regulatory, compliance and national security domains to the Diem project.

Dahlia serves as the overall technology lead for the project and drives the technical development roadmap, open source policy and product development. She also serves as the lead maintainer in consultation with the Technical Steering Committee (TSC).

As Chief Legal Officer, Steve leads overall legal and regulatory strategy and is the Chief Counsel to the Board of Directors and executives. Steve brings a wealth of legal experience at the highest levels of government and private practice.

Christy serves as the Chief of Staff and drives integrating overall strategy as well as external relations for the group. Christy brings two decades of financial services and national security experience across the public and private sectors.

Dante leads public policy, communications, social impact, and member relations for the Association. He brings two decades of experience as an entrepreneur and leader in risk, resilience, and digital transformation to the project. He chairs the Social Impact Advisory Board.

Christian is the Chief Economist, co-creator of Diem, and a professor at MIT (on leave). He is focused on the economic, market design, growth incentives, and business model aspects of the project. He brings experience in cryptoeconomics, strategy, and entrepreneurship to the leadership team.

As an Executive Vice President, Kiran leads overall ecosystem development, growth strategy, business design and execution for the project. As a key leader on the executive team, Kiran brings years of legal, regulatory, and technology experience to the project.

James serves as Managing Director overseeing the day-to-day operations of Diem Networks and providing overall executive leadership. James brings vast experience as a financial services leader driving the operations of the regulated payment system.

As Chief Operating Officer, Bertrand is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Diem Networks. Bertrand brings expertise in payments innovation and extensive management experience of regulated projects to the team.

Ian is the Chief Financial and Risk Officer responsible for all risk and finance-related activities. Ian brings three decades of senior leadership experience in financial services across a variety of executive roles in risk, operations, and strategy.

Sterling is the Chief Compliance Officer of Diem Networks and leads all aspects of financial crime compliance. Sterling brings extensive experience in the financial crime compliance discipline having had leadership roles across banking, financial services, and standard-setting bodies.

As General Counsel of Diem Networks, Saumya is responsible for advising executives, senior management, and the Board on various legal and regulatory matters. Saumya brings more than twenty years of experience in the public and private sector focused on financial services.

Kurt serves as Diem Network’s Chief of Staff and is responsible for internal strategic and operational coordination and alignment. Kurt has years of experience in building and managing global efforts across payments, mobile technology, and fintech projects.

Kelly is the Head of Business Development & Partnerships. She is responsible for developing and managing memberships, partnerships, and the project’s ecosystem. She brings a wealth of experience in technology, financial services, and multi-stakeholder engagement.
